What is KC certification?
The KC certification of information and communication equipment is a compulsory certification system implemented in accordance with Article 33 of the Korea Electric Communication Basic Law and Article 46 and Article 57 of the Radio Wave Law.
Why obtain the KC certification mark?
All products (or equipment) listed in Chapter 3 of the Implementation Rules for Information and Telecommunication Equipment Certification must be certified and affixed with a certification mark before they can be produced, imported or sold in Korea.
What is the main purpose of the information and telecommunications equipment regulations?
Its purpose mainly includes the following three aspects:
1. Wired terminal equipment: protect telecommunication networks and consumers from electrical and mechanical hazards.
2. Radio equipment: In order to effectively use wireless communication resources and maintain radio frequency order by improving the equipment's resources and reliability.
3. Electromagnetic compatibility: protect the country’s electromagnetic environment to ensure that people’s lives and property are protected from (or minimized) electromagnetic interference and radiation.
